On Thursday, March 12, there was a working bee held to plant lettuce, onions, celery, carrots and lavender.
Our school's Learnscape team, together with parent volunteers, worked alongside Amanda and Neil from Bunnings.
Students and parents had a great time digging, planting, watering and spreading mulch, and assisting to lay a weed mat and decorative bark about the garden beds.
The team from Bunnings did a great job working with the school community and we would like to extend a big thankyou for their generous donations to help support this healthy initiative within the school.
The students' understanding of sustainable living was enhanced and we look forward to harvesting our own fruit and vegetables to each during Crunch and Sip time at school in the months ahead.
Lots of other exciting events have been taking place across our school.
On Friday, March 6, we had a whole school assembly.
Graycen Shipp was presented with a medal which is the highest honour at Orana Heights and is equivalent to 250 achievement awards.
We also recently held a sports assembly in which all of our 2015 sports captains were presented with their badges and hats.
This year's sports captains have already started their duties by lending a hand and leading their peers at our recent swimming carnival.
