Stevenson has impressed all season during the Interclub series and on Sunday he finished fourth.
Mudgee's Matt Webster was the overall winner in perfect conditions at his home track in an event which saw a brand new 18-kilometre one-lap bike course.
Nine Dubbo athletes attended the meeting and second best behind Stevenson was Ed Druitt, who has been a big improver since Christmas and someone who has put in a lot of hard work at training.
Tim Hines, a very strong cyclist, was a close third and had a fast first 2km run leg before his 250m swim. He transitioned again onto the bike before another 150m swim and finished with another 2km run.
Luke McConachie has recovered exceptionally well from six months of hamstring issues to have strong bike and run legs and finish ahead of the super fast runner, Len Darlington. Darlington had a very quick first run leg but was overtaken by a few in the swim however every event he improves and has enormous potential.
Veteran Dubbo triathlete Rob Duffy had a consistent event and was able to stay very competitive as did rookie triathlete Brent McLeish in only his second InterClub triathlon.
McLeish was one of three Dunedoo based triathletes who competed as a Dubbo member and continues to enjoy his improvements along with Isabelle Mathews, who although feeling less than 100 per cent, and doing an extra kilometre in the last run was a testament to true grit. She was also rewarded by finishing third in the under-20 age group for the InterClub series.
Tracey Mathews finished in the place getters in her age group and showed her strength in both the bike and on the run. In only her second season doing triathlon, Mathews has achieved plenty despite a limited training program.
In the seniors age group, although not competing last weekend, both Peter Brown and Ruby Kwong came third in their respective age groups.
Jess Richards from Orange Piranhas Triathlon Club was the overall female winner at Mudgee leading home Estelle Dean.
The overall winner of the InterClub shield was Mudgee who regained the shield after a six-year reign from Orange.
Under a revised points scoring system based on club membership numbers as well as InterClub results, Mudgee finished in front of Orange with 1804 points and 1254 respectively with Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon Club and Cowra Triathlon Club neck and neck with 858 and 817 and finally Dubbo with 651 points.
Next event is the final triathlon of the season at Dubbo on Sunday, March 19 with registration commencing at 7.15am at Ollie Robbins Oval on Bligh Street.
A presentation will follow the event. More information can be found at www.dubbotriathlonclub.com.au.
