The Rabbitohs, who finished their comeback season in Group 11 with the wooden spoon, officially signed a host of new players in recent weeks.
Josh Merritt, Dylan Hill and Viliame Turuva, all who played with Macquarie last season, will line up in the red and green this season, as will fellow former Raiders Quinton Dickinson and Swade Dunn.
Jerakye Goolagong, Jayden Wright, Buddy Louie, Brad Thorne and former CYMS player Colt Tairua have also made the move to Westside for season 2015.
President Col Fuller is not only delighted by the new talent his club boasts but has also been pleased with how seamlessly they've slotted into training.
"The boys have gelled great, everyone's been really happy with training and now we can't wait for the season to begin," he said, before turning his attention to this weekend's Nines.
"I think we'll go well, CYMS are obviously good all over the park, but we'll have Buddy Louie and and 'Vili' (Turuva) on the wings, E.J Fernando and Quinton (Dickinson) in the centres and Josh (Merritt) steering us around so we'll be running our top squad.
"There's a bit of prizemoney up for grabs so we're not just using it as a trial, we're going to prove a point and we're going to win it."
While the Rabbitohs new-look backline is sure to get plenty of attention this season, the signing of Dylan Hill could turn out to be Westside's most important.
Hill, a Macquarie junior, spent time with North Sydney in recent years before returning to the Raiders last season.
But the powerful prop was craving a bigger role and Fuller said there will be expectation on his new front-rower.
"He's just going to boost it (forward pack) up more, he's had some experience in Sydney and last year at Macquarie he was a bit quiet because they had a lot of regulars who had been there before him," Fuller said.
"But this season we've given him the main job of steering our forward pack around and being a leader. There's a bit of responsibility on his shoulders and it's really his chance to shine."
Fuller said Westside was putting a real focus on club culture this year and was looking to stamp out any discipline issues.
The Rabbitohs were often hampered by sin binning and sending-off offences last season but Fuller said that's not the only area his club was focused on.
"We're really stamping down on the conduct on and off the field, once you put that Westside shirt on you're representing the club in the community but we've been really happy with all the boys," he said.
The Rabbitohs will take two sides, a first grade and reserve grade, to Parkes for tomorrow's Nines competition.
The Westside 1 first grade team kick off their day with a match against Forbes while Westside 2 meet Narromine.
