Hours and hours of creative work have come before the judge's eye at Dubbo in a competition noted for its "high quality and variety".
Members and branches of the Country Women's Association (CWA) Macquarie group vied for honours in the annual group handicraft competition held this month.
In the lead-up to the day exhibitors devoted hours to embroidery, knitting and crocheting, dressmaking and other skills.
CWA Macquarie group handicraft officer Carolyn McCulloch said competing branches submitted eight articles, completed using different techniques.
Judging was carried out by Jane Dowling who commented on the high quality and variety of entries, Mrs McCulloch said.
Bragging rights were shared among the group, which stretches from Coonamble to Mumbil-Stuart Town.
CWA Terramungamine branch member Jennifer Smith won the Rita Giddings Trophy for best individual exhibitor.
Terramungamine also carried away top honours for branch with the highest point score, taking home the Edith Hockey Trophy.
The Wongarbon and Dubbo Evening branches came second and third respectively.
Gollan was awarded the Betty Dunn Trophy for the best branch project.
Michelle Mills from the Gollan branch won the Phillip Group Award for a gift completed to a value of less than $5.
Wellington won with its natural fibres poster, a section of the competition to promote natural fibres the area.
CWA Dubbo branch member Betty Shuttle received the award for an article of craft made by a member aged 80 years or over.
Ashleigh Mills, Hayley Mills and Gemma Mills from the Gollan branch received junior awards for their efforts.
