The group plans to hold an exhibition at the St Brigid's Old Church on April 11 and 12, showcasing more than 90 quilts.

With more than 40 dedicated quilters, the ever-growing group has two exquisite quilts up for grabs, as first and second prize of their raffle.

The Patchworkers meet every second and fourth Sunday of the month at the Macquarie Regional Library board room.

Life member Nola Jones, said it could take months to complete a quilt, depending on the design.

"It also depends if you choose to hand stitch or use a machine," she said.

"There's certainly a lot of work involved."

Along with gathering together for a stitch and a laugh, the group have been making gift quilts for the past 15 years, donating them to local organisations and nursing homes.

Mrs Jones said there was a great spark between the group.

"It's always a nice chance for us to catch up as well as completing some work," she said.

Quilts are a treasured item, she said, and people certainly get a lot of use out of them.

The Dubbo Patchwork Group 30 year anniversary exhibition will run from 10am to 3pm at the St Brigid's Old Church on April 11 and 12. Entry is $7.
