It's not quite the New York pad you'd expect of the star of the Die Hard movie series. There's no gritty gym equipment left lying around, no crates of ammunitions at the ready and Bruce Willis is yet to be seen making his entrance by swinging in through a smashed window.

But according to the Wall Street Journal, the A-list actor and his wife, model Emma Heming, are under contract to buy a beautifully styled duplex overlooking Central Park.
The six-bedroom, four-bathroom spread – which comes with a formal dining room and a library – was originally two apartments until they were amalgamated by Wesley Edens, co-founder and principal of Fortress Investment Group and part-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team.
Mr Edens bought the first apartment in 1993 and the second in either 1999 or 2000, and listed it in October for US$16,995,000 ($21.8 million) because he no longer needs the space.
Bruce Willis, however, does need that much space. He has five daughters: Rumer, Scout and Tallulah with his former wife Demi Moore, and Mabel and Evelyn with Heming.
The pending purchase by Willis follows reports late last year that he had listed his smaller three-bedroom pad in the El Dorado building for US$12,995,000.
That apartment was bought by Willis and Heming in 2012 for US$8,695,000 from US bassist Adam Clayton.
