The Castlereagh has officially come on board as major sponsors of basketball in Dubbo and a good crowd of players, officials and supporters got together for a final gathering before Tim Griffiths and his players hit the court for their first match against Lithgow Lazers at the Wool Shed this Saturday night.
Rams player and Waratah League co-ordinator Daniel Medway said the launch was a chance for the players to come together before the on-court action begins.
"We've got a few new faces in the playing group this season so it was a good chance to see each other away from training and just socialise a bit," he said.
"We're pretty excited that the season is just around the corner. Most of us have been training since just after Christmas and we haven't had any trials so we're itching for a game."
The Rams will be guided by well-renowned coach Tim Griffiths this season after stints with Grant Cole and Jay Forrester over the past two years.
Griffiths is a highly-esteemed figure in Dubbo basketball circles having tasted plenty of success with junior sides, and according to Medway the transition to another new coach has been relatively simple.
"Tim is a very good coach. He's got the results in the past that shows that, and I think it's because he leaves no stone unturned," Medway said.
"He's a doctor of basketball and knows the game inside out, and his plan is to try and build us up so the future of basketball is strong.
"He'll work with us and work on our strengths and weaknesses this season and see how we go, and hopefully we can build something that teams in the next one, two, five and 10 years can build on it."
