A total of 172 local business have partnered with council to create the City Development Partnership Program in order to promote Dubbo as a premier destination.
The program aims to highlight the city's key attractions to the markets of visitors, new residents and event organisers.
Along with other key collateral which would be used to promote the city, Cr Dickerson also launched the Dubbo Visitors Guide, Dubbo New Residents Guide and Dubbo Events Guide as a way to attract investment.
"The City Development Partnership Program plays an integral role in the promotion of the city as a vibrant, regional hub that is a desirable destination to visit, invest in and relocate to," he said.
"The program provides local business with the opportunity to cost effectively reach these markets."
The 157,000 guides will be the first example of marketing and will be distributed over the next 18-months promoting Dubbo.
"Dubbo Visitor Guides have been distributed to residents this week with the aim to motivate locals to get out and explore their own backyard, as well as encourage their visiting friends and relatives to explore our city and further grow our visitor economy," Cr Dickerson said.
"Importantly this program is about more than the production of materials, it provides a strong foundation for council and local industry to continue to work effectively together to grow our city."
