The state-of-the-art facility, nestled at the rear of the council building at the Cobar Youth and Fitness Centre, will be officially opened by federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton.
At a cost of $330,000, Cobar mayor Lilliane Brady said the new facility not only provided a place for the town's youth to call their own, but had become the benchmark for other similar developments in the west.
"It's really something for the whole community to be proud of," Cr Brady said.
More than $200,000 was secured through the federal government's regional development fund, while the park's namesake Peak Gold Mines contributed $95,000 towards the cost, with the balance paid out by council.
The design features a number of elements highlighting the shire's rich mining past, Cr Brady said.
"Thanks to Peak Gold this skatepark features some very unique elements that have been re-purposed from an old mining loader."
The official opening will get under way at 10am on March 14.
