Dubbo's Robert Toomey and Joel Galea from Wellington will line up at the Thunder Fight Night at Dubbo Showground on March 14, with the pair combining to promote the event through their respective Pound For Pound and Hardnox gymnasiums.
The task of putting together an all-pro event as well as train is foreign to both men, but Toomey said it was looming as one of the biggest promotions in recent boxing history.
"We're working hard to make this a big event. It's coming at a fairly substantial cost so we hope it comes off but the biggest thing about it is we want it to succeed so we can keep putting on all-pro events into the future," Toomey said.
"This is the first one I've done. It's been harder than an amateur night because you have to deal with managers rather than just trainers but we're pretty happy with the line-up we have planned."
Toomey and Galea will both fight for titles on the night, with the Dubbo fighter eyeing off the IBO light welterweight Oceanic title while Galea will be chasing the NSW welterweight belt.
A third title belt will be up for grabs on the night too as Wade Ryan tries to take possession of the NSW middleweight crown.
"These fights are all looming as pretty close bouts, we think we've matched them really well and they're 50/50 contests," Toomey said.
"We haven't matched ourselves against easybeats, they will be tough fights.
"Steve Roberts from Narromine will be fighting on the night as well, and Owen Duffy from Nyngan will be having his first professional bout so hopefully we'll get good support from those towns as well."
The event will be held at the Dubbo Showground pavilion and is being sponsored by the Garden Hotel.
Pre-sale tickets are available from the Garden Hotel or from the Pound For Pound and Hardnox gyms at a cost of $35 each.
If tickets are bought at the door they will be $45.
There are also VIP tables available on the night and more information can be obtained by contacting Kara Tremain on 0488 262 161 or Kellsey Melhuish on 0418 265 079.
"Kara and Kellsey have been a big help for Joel and I in getting ready for the show, and that has helped us worry about getting our training right and making sure we can get down to our weights," Toomey said.
"We want to make this event as good as we can so we can keep bringing these kinds of shows to Dubbo."
