Lou Hawkins, Kathryn Taylor, Sarah Stanford, Kerrieanne Nichols and Helen Bassett are new faces on the board bringing the number of female business representatives to six. Red Dwyer is also a newly-elected member on the board of 14.
The new-look team met on Monday for a planning meeting at the Brisbane Street base of the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dubbo Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Matt Wright said the new women on the board brought with them valuable business expertise.
"We are pleased that more women have sought to participate on the chamber board and their election reflects the position of women in the Dubbo business community," he said.
In 2014 there were four women on the chamber board and Mr Wright said there had been increased interest in 2015.
New board member, Solar West manager Helen Basset said she joined the chamber not only to help promote and grow her business but also to give back to Dubbo, her home town.
"I have seen the strong business community and what it can achieve," she said.
"I think there are great opportunities on the board and women certainly have skills they can contribute.
"I think it is going to be an exciting and successful year for the chamber."
