In the final round of the regular season Rugby will take on the Cricketer's Arms Journeymen and that match will be followed by Christies Crackerjacks clashing with the Castlereagh Hornets.
Newtown have already sealed the minor premiership and advanced through to the grand final but Rugby, the Journeymen and the Crackerjacks are all currently equal on points and fighting it out for the two semi-final spots.
The winner of the first match on Friday night will go through to next week's knockout clash while the loser will be sweating on the Hornets getting over the top of Keiran Brien and his Crackerjacks.
Despite all being on the same amount of points, the Crackerjacks are a long way behind the other two sides on percentages, meaning only a win will be enough to see them through.
"I think it would have been nice to play the second game," the Journeymen's Wes Giddings said.
"But we're going in to the match needing to win it and it all comes down to this game.
"We've got to do everything right against Rugby because it's going to be a tough game."
Giddings expects tonight's match with Rugby to go right down to the wire, much like the two sides' meetings in the Whitney Cup have played out this season.
Rugby come into Friday night's match having not played a full Twenty20 since December after their most recent game against CYMS was washed out midway through.
Despite the defending premiers not having played a short-form match recently, Giddings said his side was expecting a real test against Rugby's powerful batting line-up.
"If we don't get early wickets then Jordan (Moran) and Mitch (Bower) will get off to a flyer and that will make things a bit easier for Nathan Munro, Aidan Bennewith and 'B.T' (Ben Taylor) later on," he said.
"And it will be the same for them when they bowl, taking early wickets and holding catches will be key. The first seven overs of each innings could decide who goes on to win."
Tim Cox and Jason Ryan are both expected to play for the Journeymen after missing the previous match.
The second match is make-or-break for the Crackerjacks with only a win good enough to see them through to next Friday's semi-final.
The Hornets have nothing to play for after only winning one Twenty20 match so far this season but they will be keen to redeem themselves after a nine-wicket mauling from the Journeymen in their last match.
The Crackerjacks will most likely be without the injured Jason Green again, putting more pressure on captain Brien, Justin Gavin, Ed Haylock and young gun Dalton Medcalf.
Angus Cusack will lead the way with the ball for the Crackerjacks but their depth of talent with the ball will again be key, much like it has all season.
The action-packed night of cricket begins at No. 1 Oval at 6.15pm.
