Tasmania's iconic statement of luxury was voted as the country's top luxury hotel by accommodation review site TripAdvisor in its Annual Travellers' Choice Awards for hotels.
It was also named the Best Overall Boutique Hotel in the World at the World Boutique Hotel Awards.
It snatched the top spot from Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island, which was named Australia's second best luxury hotel.
New South Wales rounded off the top five, with Spicers Vineyards Estate in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley at number three, ADGE Apartment Hotel in Sydney at number four and Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in Wolgan Valley at number five.
Overall New South Wales and Queensland dominated the top 10 with hotels including the Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island and the Bunyip Scenic Rim Resort in Boonah.
Victoria, Western Australia, the ACT and the Northern Territory were notably absent from the top 10.
Located on the east coast of Tasmania, Saffire Freycinet offers sweeping views of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards Mountains and features 20 suites, a on-site gym, the Palate restaurant and The Lounge bar.
This coastal sanctuary is also home to one of Australia's most indulgent spa treatments - Spa Saffire Transformation treatment. It's a day-long affair beginning with Italian skincare Vagheggis Latin Body Sculpt and Gold Stem facial utilising plant stem cells as well as a peptide containing gold particles.
TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel website. According to TripAdvisor, the winners of the 13th Travellers' Choice Awards were determined based on millions of reviews and opinions of site users worldwide collected over a 12-month period. This year the awards showcased more than 8151 winning properties worldwide, covering eight regions around the globe.
