Dubbo captain Tim Cox admits a win in tomorrow's Western Premier League final (WPL) against Parkes would be the perfect way for his side to cap off their season.
The Specsavers Dubbo side has taken all before them this season, only losing one match all summer, and Cox said WPL glory was always the plan for his side.
"It was certainly a goal, making the finals of the SCG Cup was another goal and we ended up making the semi-finals and only lost to Merewether by a few runs," he said.
"It's always a goal of ours to win this tournament and be the dominant side in the Western Zone."
Cox's goal of domination in the Western Zone has been achieved up to this point.
In the WPL Dubbo has defeated Cowra by 143 runs, Parkes by 70 runs and the Blue Mountains by 159 runs in the semi-final.
In the SCG Cup there was a nine-wicket win over Orange and an eight wicket win over Bathurst, followed by a seven wicket win over Weston Creek Molonglo in the quarter-finals.
But Cox is sure today's decider is going to be one of the toughest matches his side has faced this season, made even bigger by the fierce rivalry between the two sides.
"It's been a great rivalry and it been around a lot longer than since I've been back in Dubbo," Cox said.
"It's probably been about a decade, I remember guys like Brad (Cox), 'Greeny' (Jason Green) and Andrew Zell telling me about great matches they played over at Woodward Oval and I've been back here four or five years now and both sides have been dominant in Western Zone."
Cox singled out Parkes captain and opening batsman Anthony Heraghty as a real danger man today.
"He's the type of batsman who likes to dominate an attack and he can set up the match nicely for them," he said.
"But we'll aim to stick to our plan and hope to dismiss him early."
The bowling has been a real strength of Dubbo this season with Cox, Tim Berry and Ben Strachan all starring but the side have lost Ben Patterson, who has departed for Sydney.
"We've set ourselves up nicely by having genuine wicket-takers, 'Strachany' has taken a hell of a lot of wickets while 'Bezz' (Berry) has bowled great areas and then we've had Ben Taylor and Mat Skinner come in and they just give the batsmen nothing, you know they're going to do a great job.
"Then we've got the spinners, Ryan Medley has taken big wickets and is an attacking spin bowler and Greg Buckley and Mitch Bower create a good mix and they all offer something different."
Cox admits he'd like to see one of his top five batsmen go on and make a big score but admitted his depth of talent means there would never be a time to panic.
"With players the calibre of Jordan Moran, Paul Hulthen, Mitch Bower, Greg Buckley and Jason Ryan in the side you'd like to see someone go on and get the big score but last game we had Mat Skinner make 50 from number nine so we know everyone is capable," he said.
Tomorrow's match starts at 10am at lady Cutler 1 with the trophy presentation to be held at the Amaroo Hotel after the match.
