The health clinic, directed at providing services for women in the region, has officially extended their Thursday opening hours to 7pm from yesterday, as part of a pilot program running until Thursday, March 26.
Family Planning NSW Dubbo centre manager Ann Ryan said the new year was a great time for women to think about the effectiveness of their current contraception.
"It's also a good time for women to make resolutions to plan times for their next pap appointments and the extended hours on Thursdays will make it much easier," she said.
Along with the extended hours, Family Planning has welcomed a new face to the family, with Nicole Powell taking on the roles of reception and Aboriginal liaison officer.
Ann said Nicole's role was aimed at providing support to the Aboriginal community via health promotion and community activities.
"She will also be working in clinical services with obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Dianne Avery, who will now be working two full days a week in Dubbo," Ann said.
But, that isn't all for the health clinic, with a social worker now available for patients, via video conferencing.
Ann said the staff hoped the changes in the clinic would be warmly welcomed by the community.
"People now have increased access to health experts who are both friendly and approachable," she said.
