On February 14, Petbarn is hosting a day of pet dates where locals can go on a mini-date with the cuddly animals looking for new homes.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of pet adoptions.
Petbarn Dubbo store manager Melanie Currey said the Petbarn Foundation was dedicated to ensuring every animal had a loving place to call home.
"Valentine's Day is the perfect time for us to talk to those who are thinking of adding a furry friend to their family," Ms Currey said.
"We encourage you to come in and meet some of the gorgeous pets that are up for adoption and you could end up saving a life."
Last year more than 130 pets from across 100 stores were rehomed at the inaugural Pet Dating day.
Anyone who finds a pet they would like to take home is able to complete the adoption process in-store on the day.
"If you can make it to our Valentine's Day pet date on Saturday 14 February, visit our Pet Adoption Centre which is open all year round.
"Simply come in and speak to a staff member about meeting some of the lovely pets that are looking for a new home."
The adoption fees will go to the Petbarn Foundation which supports pet welfare programs.
