It is the first time the 14-year-old has been chosen to wear the green and gold but his selection in the development competition means it is likely to become a regular occurrence.
The development side is a combination of under 25 and under 18 players and includes two current Australian players, 20-year-old Dylan Fisher and 26-year-old Matthew Baus.
Ben Twist, 24, and Joshua Corless, 16, are the newcomers to the side along with Davis, who already boasts an incredible record filler with multiple national junior titles and an Australian Open junior win.
Davis found out he had been selected via a Facebook message and email from Bowls Australia and said he was already looking forward to playing.
The team will travel to the Burnside Bowling Club in Christchurch to take on the Kiwis between March 18 and 20 and Davis said it will be the biggest moment in his young career.
"This is the best achievement so far. It's very exciting and it will be a proud moment for me," he said.
"I've been very happy with my form lately and that was what earned my selection. I'm in the team with one other junior and three open players and it will be a great experience."
The Dubbo Railway bowler, who said his current aim is competing for Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, will contest both the triples and fours events and already knows some of his new team-mates.
"I've played with Ben Twist and Matt Baus before but not with the other two," he said.
Like in so many sports, Davis said a natural rivalry has formed between Australia and New Zealand in lawn bowls and he said it would give the side extra incentive to succeed.
"There's a good rivalry and we certainly don't want to lose to them," he said.
"It will be hard. They are very good bowlers. They are highly ranked."
Davis' form has been sensational, with victories in the NSW Junior Singles and the South Pacific Junior Pairs titles and as a runner-up in then South Pacific singles.
The talented junior said he will ramp up his training in the next two months to prepare.
