The South Dubbo Hornets won a low-scoring thriller on Saturday, edging past RSL-Colts by just one wicket.
Batting first Colts could only manage 86 with Andrew Cusack tearing through the lower order to claim 5-8 from five overs.
In a seemingly straightforward run chase Souths found themselves in all sorts of trouble at 9-76 but number 10 Nathan Astri hit 19 not out to get his side across the line.
Earlier in the day Colts were cruising at 1-63 but Astri (4-23) combined with Cusack to pick up 9-23 between themselves.
The run chase began very slowly and patiently with David Powell and Harry Edmondson taking the score to 0-19 from 10 overs.
Jakke Gardiner entered the attack for Colts and went on to claim the second five wicket haul of the day, ripping through the middle order to finish with 5-23 from his eight overs.
Just when it seemed Colts were about to achieve a miraculous win Astri stepped up and worked his way to 13 and with just two runs needed for victory he cleared the boundary and brought up the victory with a six.
The win was only the Hornets second for the season and moves them within nine points of the fifth placed RSL-Colts.

CYMS extended their lead at the top of the table on Saturday with a straightforward five-wicket win over Rugby in the top-of-the-table clash.
The Cougars dismissed Rugby for just 92 and then despite some early wobbles reached the target for the loss of just five wickets.
Yogi Chawla, fresh from his century last round, starred again, claiming 4-17 with the new ball and then making 32 to lead his side to victory.
Dale Watmore (25) spent 23 overs in the middle as he tried to hold the Rugby innings together but he received little support.
While Chawla was the chief destroyer for the Cougars he received plenty of support from Brodie Parkinson (2-7) and Warren Dodd Snr (2-9).
The Cougars lost Daryl Thompson, Nathan Hawke and Scott Duffy early but Chawla led the way and the likes of Gavin Weekes (19), Salmon Rasool (14 not out) and Brandon Dodd (12 not out) all contributed.
The win moves CYMS more than eight points clear at the top of the ladder, strengthening their minor premiership chances.

Macquarie closed the gap on second-placed Rugby as they defeated Newtown by 23 runs at Lady Cutler 4.
While the day's other matches were low scoring affairs there were plenty of runs for the Blues as Brant Mann's 107 led them to a total of 217.
Mann came in at first drop and combined with Brenton Morgan (52) for a 152-run partnership which set up the win.
Mann smashed 16 fours and a six in his innings as the Blues continued their resurgence in the Pinnington Cup.
Youngster Tom Barber was a standout for the Tigers, claiming 5-40 to keep his side in the hunt.
Elliot Carlin (46) and Kel Blackett (35) made a 60-run partnership for Newtown in the run chase but the required run rate grew higher.
Ben Calder, Nathan Shurmer and Vinay Kapila each claimed two wickets and kept the pressure on, never allowing the Tigers the big overs they needed.
In the end Newtown ran out of time as they finished at 8-194 from their 40 overs with Garry Finlay's hard-hitting 36 in vain.
