Dubbo Fireworks Inc chairman Peter Judd said about 5000 people attended the event and the crowd was extremely well behaved.
The 'Dubbo Fireworks' Facebook page has been filled with compliments, with one lady writing she would love for the fireworks to become an annual event.
"Congratulations to all on such a successful, stress-free event. I thought numbers were fantastic! Volunteers were all pleasant and the fireworks display magical!" the post read.
Dubbo Fire and Rescue were stationed at Caltex Park to monitor the fireworks, but station officer John Poulos said everything went as planned.
In total, Mr Judd said the event cost "in excess of $60,000", but he said the fireworks were a very small part of the cost, probably the fourth or fifth most expensive element.
He said the majority of the cost went on things such as advertising, insurance and equipment.
The night included a competition for the best themed stall on the night, which was awarded to Dubbo's Own Lolly Lady based on Facebook votes.
The prize was a refund of the stall holders fees for the event and free fees for 2015.
"It was a very close contest, there were less than a handful of votes between the best six," Mr Judd said. Plans are already underway for the 2015 fireworks.
Mr Judd said the fireworks would "absolutely" be held again, "bigger and better" than 2014 and a meeting would soon be held to discuss improvements.
"We'll look at that as a committee. We'll have a full debrief from all our emergency services and sponsors and see what slight changes need to be made."
It was a gold coin entry fee to attend, which will be donated to Macquarie Homestay and another unknown benefactor which Mr Judd said would soon be announced.
The committee spent Thursday morning cleaning up Caltex Park to ensure it was left in the condition it was before the event.
"There's very little rubbish around. We'll look at putting in rubbish bins next year," Mr Judd said. Mr Judd was thankful to the night's sponsors for making the event possible and said anyone who wanted to leave feedback was welcome to do so on the group's Facebook page- 'Dubbo Fireworks'.
