A disqualified driver who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase through the Southern Highlands of NSW has been charged after attempting to escape on a train.

The high-speed pursuit saw police and private cars hit as the driver allegedly raced through the town.
NSW Police said traffic officers were on duty at the Illawarra Highway, Moss Vale at 4.30pm on Wednesday when they allegedly saw a white Commodore heading west at high speed.
Police found the car travelling at more than 160km/h in a 100km/hr zone, so began to pursue it.
Heading into Moss Vale, police said the Commodore then hit a police vehicle and another private vehicle as it rattled through the town at more than 100km/h.
Leaving Moss Vale towards Sutton Forest, the driver then allegedly accelerated to 200km/h.
Police said they found the Commodore empty in Exeter a short time later, but a tip-off led them to Goulburn Railway station - about 70km away.
They arrested a 34-year-old man, from Granville in Sydney, as he got off a train at the station about 7pm.
Police said the man had been disqualified from driving until 2019.
The man was charged with dangerous driving in police pursuit, driving while disqualified, speeding by more than 45km/h and not giving particulars at Goulburn Police Station.
He was refused bail and was expected to appear in Goulburn Local Court on Thursday.
