All up 44 racers competed over three distances on the day.
The highlight of the day was the surprise appearance of one of Australia's most successful athletes, Michael Milton, to present awards to all competitors at the end of the races.
Milton was in Dubbo visiting relatives and took the opportunity to allow his daughter Matilda compete in the junior triathlons on the day.
He is a winter and summer paralympic who has won six gold, three silver and two bronze medals achieved across a variety of skiing and cycling events.
He also holds the world record for completing a marathon on crutches and has twice walked the Kokoda track and climbed Mount Kilamanjaro.
In the junior short course event, 18 competitors competed over a swim across the little pool, 400m ride and 400m run.
In the girls Imogen Fuller, Isabella Sinclair and Makayla Fuller all raced very quickly and had some very fast times while Audrey Cook, Zali Porter and Ava Sutcliffe all had strong races.
The boys in the junior race were lead home by Alex Maas, Billy Hing and Patrick Edwards.
Matthew May, Sam Hargreaves, Harry Cavanagh, Tom Maas and Finn Sutcliffe also did well in the race.
In the junior long course, 12 competitors competed over a 50m swim, 1km bike ride and 800m run.
Talented cyclist Haylee Fuller lead the field home in a very quick time of 8.20 mins.
Cooper Ferrari and Joe Sinclair were next to finish. Others to do well included sisters Courtney and Brittany Marks, Samantha Barnes, Arieanna Edwards and Addison Wray.
The Aquathon race over a distance of 250m swim and a 3km run saw 14 competitors take place.
Fourteen-year-old Callum Kelly led the field home in a time of 17.10 mins with Scott Ferrari not far behind in a time of 17.50 mins, and Joe Marks third male to finish in a time of 19.27 mins.
In the females Rebecca May, daughter Monique, and Leisl Moffat were the best performers. Jodie Marks' performance was also full of merit.
The next junior triathlon day and aquathon will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015.
At this event the series major prize will be drawn, a bike from Wheeler's Cycles.
All competitors who have competed in a race are in the running for the prize.
