COMPETITION on Sunday at the Dubbo Pistol Club range resulted in some close finishes from all of the competitors in the three matches that were conducted.

To start the day's events off, four members of the service crew shot a 25-yard service match.
Paul Williamson proved the person to beat shooting 615, 28, 633 to win the match.
Second place went to Steve Holmes with a 556, 71, 627 ahead of Paula Heffernan 446, 65, 511, who claimed third place.
A visitor to the range, Lee Dennis, shot 538 off gun.
The match finished in time for the committee meeting, which saw two more new members accepted to the ever increasing Dubbo PC membership.
In the Sports Pistol Match that started at 1pm, Craig Hyland shot a personal best score and sliced 27 points off his handicap, 106 now. Second place went to the club captain, Warren Johnson while third place ended all tied up between Helen Lord and Adam Bell.
Helen regularly finishes in the top places and Adam has cemented his place as one of Dubbo's rising stars.

The Centrefire match, which also started at 1pm, was a four-way competition this week.
Steve Holmes shot a personal best score to record the win and slice 13 points off his handicap.
Second place went to Peter Howell with Richard Wheatley only nine points behind in third.

The results from last Wednesday night's Air Pistol Match are also to hand.
It was a three-way battle with Warren Johnson scoring a convincing win on 518, 68, 586; ahead of Martin Cook, 533, 48, 581, in second place, with Bob Dowling 525, 28, 553, in third place.
This Sunday, December 28, will be the last club competition for the year. For those having Christmas at home the matches on offer will be Centrefire/Sports Pistol, Black Powder and the Service/WA1500 matches.
