The youngsters have become heavily involved in Dubbo touch football in recent times and Grant said the awards were a recognition of the time and effort they were putting in to their chosen sport.
"These awards recognise volunteers who are the lifeblood of grassroot sport in regional NSW," he said.
"Danielle is a recent sport volunteer with the Dubbo Junior Touch committee, and has been a tireless worker supporting other volunteers on ground and in the canteen and has made a significant contribution to the Dubbo local competition through her ability to sign up corporate and business sponsors which now see every junior team with a sponsor for the season.
"In addition Danielle has co-ordinated community fundraising events, such as barbecues, raffles and social day canteens, as well as social touch events to encourage greater participation in community sport.
"Through her significant efforts Dubbo Touch has been able to support disadvantaged Dubbo families with cost subsidies that has enabled the club to be more socially inclusive and ensures that those with less means are able to participate at a representative level."
On behalf of Dubbo Junior Touch association, Danielle will receive $250 worth of much-needed goods, to be supplied by a Dubbo business, that will support the continued growth and healthy environment involved with touch football.
Meanwhile Dubbo Touch Association treasurer Tracey Whillock said 13-year-old Rhys had thrown himself into sport volunteering as a constant referee, supporting younger people to join the game and as club members
"He is always available for marking fields and helping at fundraising events, which support the junior touch competitions," she said.
