About 10.20pm on Sunday September 28, 2014, a 40-year-old man was at a hotel on Dubbo Street when a man armed with a firearm entered and threatened him, demanding money.
The armed man fled the scene on foot a short time later, taking cash.
Police from Darling River Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.
The employee was uninjured during the incident.
Following inquiries, just before 11pm the same day, police tried to stop a silver Ford Falcon, believed to have been stolen, on the Oxley Highway at Nevertire.
The car failed to stop and a brief pursuit took place, which was stopped a short time later.
It is believed the driver of the vehicle may have been involved in the robbery.
As police continue to investigate the incident, they have released comfit images of three people who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
The first man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 35 to 40 years old, with an olive complexion, dark brown hair, and a muscular build.
A man matching the description was seen driving a Ford in the area at the time of the robbery.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 40 to 45 years old, of large build, and has grey hair and a goatee.
The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 20 years old, of slim build and with blonde hair.
Police believe the robbery may be linked to a similar incident at a Warren bottle shop on Sunday, January 13, 2013, where cash was also taken.
