"Know what you need to get and work as hard as you can to get it," was Adrian's advice for future HSC students.
Adrian said he decided in year 9 he wanted to become a fighter pilot and worked to make it happen.
"I've had a big improvement in my grades since junior high," he said.
"I got a lot more serious."
Study and the support from teachers are a credit to Adrian's success, Adrian said.
"I studied just as much as everyone else," he said.
"I studied a lot before exams.
"The teachers are all really good and helped out."
After a gap year next year Adrian will apply for the Air Force in 2016, where it should take him around Australia.
Jess achieved one of Dubbo College's highest HSC scores, an ATAR of 90.75 and said a balanced lifestyle is the key to success.
"I studied a lot, but it was balanced- I still played sport and had a night off occasionally," she said.
"I'd tell next years HSC students to have consistent effort and not leave it all till the last minute."
Jess studied biology, chemistry, PDHPE, maths extension and advanced English.
Her highest mark of 93 was achieved in biology.
She made sure to write study notes every night so she could review her topics easily come exam time.
Jess will also have a gap year and in 2016 is hoping to study physiotherapy at CSU Orange.
