All players wore black armbands and according to Dubbo and district Junior Cricket president Lindsay Wood, it was a way for all the players and parents in the cricket community to remember a dedicated family man and someone who really enjoyed and loved the game of cricket as an umpire, coach, father and volunteer.
On the field, in the under-10s CYMS White beat CYMS Green, while in the under-12B Rugby (4-100) defeated St John's (88) and no scores were supplied for the CYMS v Newtown clash.
Matches will conclude today in the under-12A, under-14A, under-14B and under-16 competitions.
Also last weekend, in very hot and windy conditions on Sunday the Dubbo Blue under-12 representative players showed great enthusiasm and played very well in their match against Parkes.
Parkes won the toss and sent Dubbo Blue in to bat and once again we performed well with the bat, Hugh Ridley scored 40 and hit nine boundaries along the way.
Preston Beauchamp scored a strong 23 and Tom Coady batted for the full innings and finished on 57 not out.
It was a great effort by Tom Coady to get his first 50 runs for the season.
Dubbo Blue also had some great bowling, with captain Preston Beauchamp taking 1-12 off 5 overs, while the standout bowling of the day was Oscar Robison taking 3-10 off four overs and Darcy, Joe and Paddy also taking a wicket each.
Ben Rosenbaum took an LBW as well to see Parkes all out.
In the field, Campbell Stewart took two catches and got a run out, Joe Yeo also got a run out and George Munro took a catch.
All round a great team effort again by Dubbo Blue.
