Last year Western failed to win a match, although they were in the contest up until the end of each match.
But with a good blend of youth and experience at his disposal this time around, Rosser believes his side can perform well when the carnival starts in Griffith today.
"We have a very good side with a number of players who can turn a game with the ball or off their own bat," Rosser said.
"I am really excited about our chances this year.
"Players like Mick Curtale and Tim Berry have been in good form and are capable of winning a match for us. It is not just up to them though.
"Every player in the squad is keen to contribute and turn around last year's results."
Rosser, who leaves for the north coast in the coming weeks, is confident Western's preparation has put them in good stead to reverse those results this year.
"We have had the best preparation since I have been involved in Western Zone," he explained.
"It started with a high performance clinic held in Sydney in July.
"We also played a pre-season match against a Hawkesbury first grade side.
"That as well as a solid Western Zone Premier League schedule should have all the guys ready to go today.
"Western Zone has provided a strong platform so its players only have to concentrate on doing their jobs out on the field.
"Matt Crawley (coach), a former Western Zone player himself, has been instrumental in the squad's preparations.
"The base is definitely there for the team to perform this year."
