THE best of Dubbo's junior cricketers again showcased the talent of the future last weekend in another round of representative action.
The Dubbo under-14s Blue and White sides were both victorious, as was the under-12s Blue side while the under-12s White team just fell short against Condobolin.
The under-14s White side had the biggest win of the day, completely outclassing Parkes to win by ten wickets.
Tom Atlee again showcased his potential with a man of the match effort in the win, claiming 4-18 from seven overs as Dubbo dismissed Parkes for 142 and then the talented all-rounder hit 71 in an unbroken 147-run opening partnership with Campbell Rose.
Rose finished not out on 51 in the big win.
Earlier Ray Towney had top scored for Condobolin, making 74 of his side's total while other wicket-takers for Dubbo included Ben Wheeler, Sam Bass, Jack Pettit and Dale Smith.
The run chase was never in doubt as Atlee and Rose punished the bowling, reaching the target inside 14 overs.
The under-14s Blue side also impressed, posting a strong win over Parkes. Tom Nelson was the standout in the match, making a well constructed 70.
In the under-12s, the Blue side was led to victory by Tom Coady and his unbeaten 57.
It was Coady's first half century of the season and set the platform for his side's total of 3-159. Hugh Ridley hit an aggressive 40, including nine fours, while Preston Beauchamp made 23.
Beauchamp was also impressive with the ball, taking 1-12 from five overs, but the chief destroyer was Oscar Robinson, who took 3-10 from four overs.
The Dubbo under-12s White team came up against a powerful Condobolin side and the visitors produced some big hitting as they made 7-166, a commendable effort from the Dubbo bowlers considering the strength of the batting.
In reply Ed Hennessy led the way with a brilliant 70 not out to almost get his side across the line but Dubbo fell just short, finishing their innings at 3-158.
