The organisation had helped 933 women and children in the past year, Dubbo MP Troy Grant said.

"In the last year, Dubbo Emergency Accommodation Project Inc received $323,132.31 from the NSW government to assist in the work they do," Mr Grant said.

It was part of the $7.75 million Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Program which has helped more than 22,000 women and children affected by domestic violence across NSW last financial year.

The service helped domestic violence victims to get apprehended domestic violence orders by non-government organisations operating in 114 courts across NSW, including Dubbo, Nyngan, Wellington, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Narromine, Warren and Gilgandra.

Mr Grant said the services were staffed by fully-trained and dedicated employees referring victims to support services and helping them with information about the legal process.

The services were funded by Legal Aid NSW in 28 regions of the state.

Preventing domestic violence remained a focus for the government, Mr Grant said, but it was comforting to know support was available for those who had experienced it and services were available to make the court process less traumatic.

Services funded under the program would also form a crucial role as local co-ordination points under the government's It Stops Here: Safer Pathway, he said.

Last financial year Legal Aid NSW delivered a record of more than one million legal services in civil, family and criminal law.

They did more than many people realised, he said, including providing information about fines, housing, debt, divorce, child support, workplace harassment and problems with consumer goods.

He said Legal Aid NSW did more than many people realised - providing free legal advice, assistance and information on everyday issues, including fines, housing, debt, divorce, child support, harassment at work, or problems with consumer goods.

"They work with local organisations and regularly come to community and neighbourhood centres, court houses or libraries in 194 locations around the state to provide free advice and assistance on important legal issues," he said.

White Ribbon Day activities would take place locally at Dubbo College Delroy Campus on Thursday, where there would be a school fundraiser, a White Ribbon Day barbecue and the culmination of lessons and assembly items surrounding White Ribbon's work.

Service provider Interrelate in Dubbo also planned to host a lunch and guest speakers on December 1.
