A search continues to try to find the 17-year-old who escaped Juvenile Justice custody and fled Dubbo Hospital while being treated for a wrist injury.
It happened about 6pm Saturday.
Police were alerted and officers from Orana Local Area Command searched for him but he was not found.
He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, between 180cm and 185cm tall with a thin build, black hair and brown eyes.
He has links with both Orange and Bourke, according to police, who believe he could be headed for either of those centres, or Sydney.
Anyone who suspects they have seen the prisoner is urged not to approach him but to contact triple-0.
