The Domestic airline on time performance October 2014 report showed Queensland airports Mount Isa and Moranbah topped the list for on-time departures and arrivals, with 96.3 per cent of flights departing Mount Isa on time and 96.4 per cent of flights arriving at Moranbah on time.
Two West Australian airports were runners up, with 95.3 per cent of flights departing Newman airport on time and 96.2 per cent of flights arriving in Broome on time.
At Dubbo airport, 87.9 per cent of departures were on time and 86.3 per cent of arrivals were on time.
When it came to individual airlines flying in and out of Dubbo, Regional Express (Rex) outstripped rival QantasLink when it came to both on-time arrivals and departures to and from Sydney.
The report showed 90 per cent of Rex departures on the Dubbo to Sydney route were on time, compared with 85.3 per cent of QantasLink flights.
For arrivals on that same route, 85 per cent of Rex flights were on time while 83.7 per cent of QantasLink flights were.
None of the 129 QantasLink flights scheduled for October on that route were cancelled, but two of the 162 Rex flights were.
For the Sydney to Dubbo route, 89.1 per cent of Rex departures were on time, compared with 84.5 per cent of QantasLink departures.
Rex arrivals were on time on 87.8 per cent of occasions, compared with a figure of 84.5 per cent for QantasLink.
Neither airline had cancellations on that route during October.
There were some routes within Australia that stood out from others when it came to their punctuality.
For on-time departures they were Adelaide to Gold Coast (97.1 per cent), Mount Isa to Brisbane (96.3 per cent) and Perth to Broome (96.2 per cent).
For on-time departures they were Newman to Perth (98.4 per cent), Adelaide to Gold Coast (97.1 per cent) and Adelaide to Canberra (96.8 per cent).
