A MAN was charged after a police officer was allegedly kicked, and had his shoulder dislocated, while trying to make an arrest in Bourke.

Officers attached to Darling River Local Area Command were patrolling Mertin Street about 11.30am Saturday when they saw a parked vehicle linked with a man wanted for seven outstanding warrants.
A short time later, police saw a 39-year-old man leave a nearby hotel.
Officers approached the man to arrest him and he ran off down Mertin Street.
An officer caught up with him and a struggle took place.
The male constable suffered a dislocated shoulder after the man allegedly kicked him.
The man took off again and after patrolling for the man, police arrested him later in the day.
He was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged in relation to the seven outstanding warrants, as well as intent to resist arrest causing grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail ahead of an appearance in Bourke Local Court.
The injured officer was taken to Bourke District Hospital for treatment and later released.
