Despite the SCG Country Shield being a level below the premier SCG Cup many are expecting tomorrow's Mudgee team to be a more talented side than the one Orange produce for the Cup clash with Dubbo.
Mudgee feature the likes of former Dubbo cricketers Will Lindsay, James O'Brien and Steve Knight but Dubbo captain Mat Skinner said his side had what it takes to advance to the next round of the statewide knockout competition.
"They're the three big keys for them, they are all dangerous with bat and ball plus they've got a couple of other decent boys so we can't take them lightly," he said.
"A lot of people are saying they think Mudgee will be stronger than Orange but I believe we've got the team to beat them."
In a huge boost for the Dubbo side, Macquarie veteran Jason Green has made himself available for the match and Skinner said having the leading run-scorer from Whitney Cup in his line-up made his team a much more dangerous outfit.
"I rang him yesterday (Thursday) and I asked him if he could play this one game and he said he was available so it's a big thing to have him," he said.
"Everyone knows he's a run machine and he can do a lot of damage and win the game on the back of his own batting."
Skinner is also excited abut the mix of youth and experience in his team with youngsters Marty Jeffrey, Angus Cusack and Nick Cushan all featuring in the match which starts at 10am.
