Reddy spent a year at Nyngan as the club coach, overseeing all the coaching and development at the club during the 2014 season but the chance to get back into the big time was too good to refuse.
Nyngan Tigers president Glen Neil said he was sad to see the former Australian representative leave but admitted his club was lucky to have a year with a man he described as "an absolute legend".
"He rang me I think the same night he got the call from 'JT' (Taylor) and it was pretty obvious that he couldn't just let an opportunity like that go," Neil said.
"It would have been great to have him for another 12 months, we would have seen a lot more come out but it was a great opportunity and he's a fantastic bloke, he was involved in anything and the community of Nyngan loved him."
Reddy maintained an eye over all three grades during his time at Nyngan and brought plenty of fresh ideas to training and game day.
His one-on-one coaching was a big feature of his time with the club and Neil expects that to be the same at Reddy's new Tigers side.
"Basically from what he was saying is that anyone who is not playing week-to-week he'll work with and work on the areas of their game that aren't great and make some changes," he said.
"That's what he did here and it took the guys some getting used to because they hadn't seen that before but it worked.
"We were lucky to have him here, I think the biggest thing was that he tried to get everyone to believe, he just told everyone that we are capable and we've just got to believe and play as a side and everyone respected that."
Taylor has only recently taken over the head coach's role at the Wests Tigers but wasted little time in appointing Reddy and the departure of the former St George and Illawarra player has left Nyngan with some positions to fill.
It is still unclear at this stage whether first grade coach Col Wright will return for another season with him expected to spend time overseas but Neil said he is advertising the coaching position and is planning on meeting with a number of candidates.
"All our boys are talking footy now, they're already training and some haven't stopped so I'm looking forward to 2015 and we're currently working on a coach, it's obviously a hard role to fill but I just think 'Rocket' has left us with a good vibe around," he told the Daily Liberal.
" A lot of the interest (in the coaching position) is because 'Rocket' was here, and it's not going to do us any harm having him there because if any kid there that might not be up to it at Wests he'll maybe send them out, like we did with a kid from Penrith this year, so he'll be keeping an eye out for us and it will be a good opportunity for our kids to go down there too."
