A MAN was charged and police have seized a shortened firearm and ammunition during an operation at Condobolin.

About 5.20pm Monday officers attached to Lachlan Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Condobolin.
A 21-year-old man was arrested following a short foot pursuit and was subsequently charged with assault police, use weapon to avoid apprehension and numerous firearm offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court.
During the search warrant police allegedly located a shortened .22 calibre firearm and a large quantity of mixed calibre ammunition.
Lachlan Local Area Commander Superintendent Chris Taylor said: “Police are committed to seizing dangerous weapons and investigating firearm- related crime.
“Investigations are continuing to identify the persons allegedly responsible for the supply of ammunition and firearms to unlicensed firearm holders in the area."
