With the lack of cancer services at Dubbo and the need to travel for appointments and treatment, this news is a small boost for those going through breast cancer at this time.
A second breast care nurse will mean more support for sufferers, with double the amount of assistance across the wider Western NSW community.
There are now six breast care nurses in the Western NSW Local Health District.
With fundraising, assistance and a little government support, hopefully we can see more nurses and more services within in the community for those suffering from cancer.
On a different note.
Did you pick a winner? There were cheers and possibly a few tears in the office yesterday afternoon as the Melbourne Cup ran for another year.
For those who picked Protectionist, Red Cadeaux and Who Shot Thebarman, be it in a sweep or a bet, well done.
It really has been great to see so many people out and about celebrating the spring racing carnival over the past few days.
First, the numbers at Derby Day were fantastic and yesterday at the Melbourne Cup event here at Dubbo we saw so many familiar faces - it was wonderful.
And second, the behaviour of the crowds. Have a little champagne or beer between placing your bets and by the end of the day things could get quite ugly, not so in Dubbo during the past few days.
The behaviour of the crowds is something to be commended by one and all.
