Cooper, batting at number nine, came to the crease with his side in big trouble at 7-86 in reply to the Blues' 162 but he wasted little time in getting his side back on track, clearing the rope twice before he was 20 and finishing with five sixes in his innings.
Ben Bruce (26) and Dane McCullogh (19) were the only other meaningful contributors while Sidhu Shaik was the pick of the Macquarie bowlers, taking 4-30.
Earlier it had been Trevor Tink who had led the way for the Blues, top-scoring with 42 in his side's total while opener Dave Murray also spent plenty of time in the middle, making 38.
But Cooper also proved the main danger with the ball, taking 3-31 from eight overs, including the wickets of Murray and the dangerous Shaik, who only made 17 but hit two sixes and a four.

Craig Pettit fell just short of a century for Newtown Gold on Saturday but he still led his side to victory, scoring an unbeaten 97 against CYMS at John McGrath 1.
CYMS made a hugely competitive 225 from their 40 overs, with youngster Thomas Nelson (66) showing his talent at the top of the order while he was well supported by his opening partner Andrew Moreton (46), as the pair put on 98 for the first wicket.
Dan Duffy also made 42 for the Cougars, who went into the field with confidence after a strong performance with the bat.
Garry Finlay took 3-19 for the Gold Tigers before their run chase started poorly when Jackson Dawe was out without scoring.
Josh Wright (25) and Kurt Simpson (24) provided some support for Pettit but CYMS continued to strike and at 6-170 it was anyone's game.
But Tim Beckenham made 48 not out and stayed with Pettit, who hit eight boundaries in his match-winning innings.

Logan Watmore's 67 not out was the highlight for Rugby, as they defeated RSL Colts Youth Development (YD) buy a comfortable six wickets at John McGrath 2.
After winning the toss and batting, Colts were cruising at 0-74 with Glenn Armstrong (45) and Gary Ashford (22) at the crease but Armstrong's dismissal triggered an epic collapse and the men in red lost 10-55 to be all out for 129.
Craig Wood was the best with the ball for Rugby, taking 4-11, while Colts hurt their chances by having three batsmen run out.
The run chase began well for Rugby with Watmore and Adam Stone (26) putting on 61 run opening stand and despite losing four quick wickets, Watmore remained at the crease to see his side home.

A team effort with the bat was the key for South Dubbo on Saturday as they defeated Newtown by six wickets.
Matt Knudsen had starred with ball earlier in the day for Souths, taking 5-16 from his eight overs as Newtown Black made 8-193, with Mike Jeffrey (48) and Brad Murray (38) leading the way.
Knudsen made sure he would receive man of the match honours as he finished unbeaten on 51 in the run chase but he received plenty of support from Aiden Giffin (52), Matt Wright (37) and Scott Dwarte (36 not out).
