After getting three points in his side's outright win over Rugby in round one, Skinner picked up a further two points after taking five wickets and scoring 29 runs in his side's win over RSL-Colts.
Those two points have put him clear of five players - Nathan Jones, Justin Gavin, Harry Brennan, Jordan Moran and Wayne Dunlop - all of which have put in man-of-the-match performances during the first two rounds of the 2014-15 Whitney Cup season.
Brennan got maximum points for helping guide CYMS to their first win in almost 20 months on Saturday, while Moran's century last Saturday set up Rugby's big win over Macquarie and Dunlop made 94 on day one as his Newtown side scored a match-winning total of 256 against Colts.
The player who can probably consider himself a little unlucky this week is Souths opener Asher Robins, who was given the one vote despite making a blistering century in just 25 overs on Saturday.
Unfortunately for him the effort came when the match had been lost by his side, with Brennan and Callan Braithwaite judged to have played a bigger role in the outcome of the contest.
