That's the feeling among the squad according to all-rounder Wes Giddings.
Colts spent all but two overs in the field last week as Newtown made 256.
It was the second game in a row the Tigers batting line up fired but Giddings said his squad are still confident heading into day two today.
"We think we'll be able to do it but we've just got to do it right and bat in partnerships," he said.
"It's always a tough score to chase, I guess it's a bit easier at Lady Cutler but if we lose a couple of wickets then we could feel the pressure."
Despite the season being less than a month old, Colts already have a number of batsmen in form and they'll need those players to stand up.
Paul Hulthen is one of the form players in Dubbo after scoring 64 against CYMS in the first round and then began the representative season with 94 runs against Cowra.
He will resume today on 0 not out while Tim Howarth will join him, unbeaten on 15, and Giddings said if Hulthen can spend a long time in the middle again it will go a long way to Colts winning.
"It's the best I've seen him bat in all the years he's been with us, he's been going really good and hopefully it can continue because he's the one who can bat a long innings and we need him," he said.
"If the rest of us can just go out and score 30s or 40s and he bats a long time then we should win."
Giddings said his side will need to face off Mat Skinner and Nick Cushan early and he added they will have to be wary of Cushan after his improvement during the off-season.
"I've heard he's come along and grown up a bit sop he could be a bit of a handful but we've just got to do the right thing," he said.
"They all bowl good areas so we've just got to respect the good one and put the bad one away and we should win if we bat close to the 75 overs."
After defeating Rugby in a lopsided outright in round one, Newtown are chasing their second big scalp in two weeks but Giddings admitted his side is already casting one eye towards next round's clash with the defending premiers.
"It would be good to go two from two and then play Rugby," he said. "Both teams will have a few representative players and could be understrength so it's important to get the win this week, especially with Rugby the next game."
Colts and Newtown resume their match at 1pm at Lady Cutler 2.
