Born and bred in Dubbo, Dorin made his way to Newcastle several years ago to pursue a music career, which is where he met fellow band members Liam Lewis and Pete Boyd.
The boys have been busy making a name for themselves in the music industry, with recorded album Enclosure under their belts, and three songs cracking the 2014 Triple J Unearthed Top 100 list.
As the Stone Empire's lead vocalist and guitarist, Dorin said he was looking forward to their performance in Dubbo.
"I'd classify our music as alternative rock," he said.
"We've based a lot of our work on the likes of Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters."
Dorin said he learnt his craft from school friend Matt Baker of the band Thirsty Merc, which is where he first got his taste for rock music.
Timing their first performance in Dubbo perfectly with the social event of the season, Derby Day, the Stone Empire boys will be performing at the Garden Hotel from 7pm on Saturday evening.
"We will be passing around a collection bucket during the night, with all proceeds donated directly to Beyond Blue," Dorin said.
Beyond Blue is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to raise awareness of anxiety and depression.
The Stone Empire boys are encouraging everyone to head to the Garden Hotel for "a taste of good music to support a good cause".
"Lissy Stanton, a singer from Queensland, is our support act," Dorin said. "It will be great to get her work out to the Dubbo crowd."
