Dubbo RSL Memorial Club hosted a spectacular evening as 21 Silver Rhino category winners were announced in the 2014 Rhino Outstanding Business Awards.
Andrew Toole Dubbo Business Chamber president said EMS Group were among a wide range of award winners.
They have grown rapidly during the past five years and were awarded taking home the Employer of Choice award and Apprentice of the Year, and Tom Cavanagh, its founding director, was highly commended in the Young Entrepreneur category.
"EMS Group is a business that has kept an eye on growth opportunities in the mining, construction, earthmoving and agriculture industries and modeled itself on supporting those industries," Mr Toole said.
"Starting out as two blokes with a ute and a few grand ideas, this business has grown to be the epitome of what tonight's Fast Forward theme reflects - it has looked to the future and grown to meet a demand.
"This is a business that proves that Dubbo is a remarkable location - we are well positioned to service a range of industries and to do so on the national and international stage."
The Jean Emile Serisier Roll of Honour recognises the contributions of Dubbo's most respected business leaders.
Former Secretary Manager of the Dubbo RSL Club, Geoffrey Holland is this year's addition to the Honour Roll.
Mr Holland led the club for about 16 years and was credited with changing the perception of the business in Dubbo and winning the RSL the Gold Rhino Award in 2012, Mr Toole said.
"Geoffrey Holland was the driving force behind Dubbo RSL Club's transition from a 'beer and pokies' joint to a respected local business and one of the most successful clubs in regional NSW," he said.
Megan Dixon of Seed Business Solutions said the Rhino awards were an opportunity to celebrate businesses success, reflect on what businesses were doing well and what could be improved on, and focused on the continual improvement of Dubbo winners.
She added winning a Rhino award could increase the reputation of local businesses.
