IF you heard screams coming from the Commercial last Saturday night it may have been coming from Wax for a Cure.
A few hairy men had parts of their body waxed to raise donations for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Ella Bache Dubbo and the Rotary Club of Dubbo West helped to raise close to $8000.
One of these now-hairless men is Lance Murphy, president of the Rotary Club of Dubbo West.
He said the night was great with an excellent turnout and it raised a lot of money for a more-than-worthy charity.
"The Leukaemia Foundation is held pretty closely to everyone there," he said.
Mr Murphy is aware his donation will be assisting a lot of sick children, but he says the pain has made him think twice about donating in future.
"I'd never, ever do it again," he said.
"It feels really strange now."
Kim Burrell of Ella Bache Dubbo said the funds raised would directly aid in research of leukaemia, myeloma, lymphoma and other blood diseases.
A silent auction and lucky draws were held on the night and Ms Burrell would like to thank those who donated prizes.
"A huge thankyou goes out to all of the local businesses who donated to the lucky draws and silent auction," she said.
"To everyone who came along to support the event, your presence was greatly appreciated."
