Eight studios from across western NSW competed in the DREAM Dance Challenge that offered a $5000 prize pool and the chance to learn from some of the best in the business.
Headline act Christopher Horsey of Tap Dogs and Bootmen fame was joined by Tap Pack members Thomas J Egan, Jordan Pollard and Jess Rasmussen at the show on Saturday, part of the DREAM (Dubbo Regional Entertainment Arts and Music) Festival.
Local dancers were led through a new routine, performed on the night, and earlier the guests entertained at Little DREAMers, a non-competitive event for groups of children aged 12 years and less.
"Our performers were amazing and I think the people in the audience were begging them to come back, they were just stunning," festival vice-chairwoman and dance coordinator Anne Field said.
"The audience got up and danced as well, which was fun," Mrs Field said.
The DREAM Dance Challenge was won by Dance Unlimited from Mudgee and Dubbo Ballet Studio was the runner-up.
On Sunday Horsey guided the region's emerging talent at the DREAM Dance Workshops, which Mrs Field said were "really well supported" and enjoyed by participants.
The DREAM Festival will continue on Friday night when Bethany Simons returns home to perform Reception: the Musical, her award-winning show from Melbourne.
Mrs Field said another treat would be the creations at the DREAM Lantern Parade on Saturday night, following the DREAM Twilight Markets.
