The Dubbo District Junior Cricket Association is busy getting organised for the upcoming season and it is not too late to find a team and get involved.

There are still clubs and teams looking for players in the under-12, 14 and 16 age groups.

These competition matches are all played on Saturday mornings from 8.30am and are finished by lunchtime, before it gets too hot.

The format of quarters cricket allows both teams to bat and bowl for 23 overs each, so the matches are interesting for all players and spectators.

The new format, brought in by the makes play more exciting and ensures the matches don't drag on too long while it also allows greater participation and interest among players.

The under-9 players this season will be participating in the new Cricket NSW Twenty20 Blast Program to be played on a Thursday night from 5pm and will include matches and organised skills sessions run by an accredited co-ordinator.

There will be a free Come and Try Night on October 16 from 5pm at Lady Cutler Ovals with games to commence the following week on October 23.

The Milo In2Cricket Program will commence on Saturday October 25 at Dubbo Sportsworld and run for eight weeks.

This is a great opportunity to learn the skills of cricket in a fun and safe environment and the registration fees include a bat, ball, hat and a kit for $80 per player or $30 for returning players. For more information contact Dan French on 6884 0123.
