Co-ordinator Dan French said the competitions will offer youngsters access to higher levels of the game, including the chance to play for the NSW Country Cyclones in next year's national tournament.
Adding to the excitement the Sydney Thunder and Mustang Cricket have jumped onboard as major supporters of this year's events and will help in supplying some of the regions most talented cricketers with some great opportunities.
"Many talented players from the western region such as Wade Burrowes, Marty Jeffrey , Ryan Peacock and Connor Slattery have been able to use events such as this as a stepping stone to selection in Australian teams," French said.
Teams from Dubbo, Mudgee, Orange, and Lachlan have already been entered, while it also hoped that Bathurst and more Dubbo teams will jump onboard in the coming days.
The first round of the championship series will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, October 1 and is to cater for children aged 14 or under. There will be full canteen facilities and a free sausage sizzle for each player.
The second round of the championship will be on Sunday, October 19 from 10am for 12 and under boys, 14 and under girls and 16 and under boys and girls.
Entries can be found by contacting Dubbo Sports World on 6884 0123 while nominations may be done via your club, association or individually.
From these tournaments, Country Thunder teams will be selected to compete against teams from across NSW.
Thanks to the Sydney Thunder the Country Thunder representatives will all be able to attend the Sydney Cricket Ground to watch the Thunder take on the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League and with the Sydney Thunder shaping up as being strong contenders in this year's BBL, this presents as a great opportunity for our local cricketing stars of the future.
The Sydney Thunder have indicated they will also be lending their support to this year's junior cricket fundraising event to be staged at Dubbo Sports World on Sunday October 12, more details to be released in the coming days.
