The Dubbo Cheer Academy gave the public the opportunity to come and see them in action while also raising money to help them get to an interstate carnival next month and support the family of Brody Burgess who lost his leg.

"The night was designed to help the cheerleaders but then when this came along, we saw it as an opportunity to also help out Brody and his family because the ongoing medical costs and rehab are going to be expensive," Dubbo Cheer Academy coach Danielle Fistr said.
The club is preparing for its biggest event of the year, the Asia Pacific Grand Internationals and is trying to raise funds to ensure the athletes are able to make the trip.
