It starts at 11am on Thursday, September 25 at the Sam's Warehouse carpark.
Participants then walk to the Church Street Rotunda and finish with a free barbecue lunch, banner competition and cash prizes.
Kath Readford dementia counsellor and clinical nurse consultant for Catholic Community Services NSW/ACTsaid the aim of the walk is to raise awareness of dementia and reduce the stigma of the condition.
"We all need to be aware of dementia," she said.
"Alzheimer's Australia are looking to break down the stigma and raise community awareness by having more dementia-friendly activities.
"If we could be a dementia-free city then it would make it much easier for people with dementia to live in Dubbo."
Ms Readford encourages anyone and everyone to get involved: "people should be aware that even if they don't know someone with dementia they could be helping another community memeber who is caring for someone with dementia."
She added this is a great opportunity to remind people to be conscious of their health and seek help if they feel unsure.
"There are a number of support services available," she said.
"Look after your brain and if you're worried they can ring services like Catholic Community Services or Alzheimer's Australia's National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500.
Registration costs $2 and can be made by contacting Bruce Wilson on 6881 3729.
