On Friday police were contacted after a man failed to return from a hunting trip while at a rural property on the Hermidale-Nymagee Road.
On Saturday police conducted a search of the property where they located the 69-year-old Pymble man dead.
It is believed the man had been riding his quad bike on the property when he hit a tree stump, lost control and flipped through the air with the bike landing on top of him.
Detectives from Darling River Local Area Command attended the scene and began investigations into the man’s death while a crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers on Sunday.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and police will prepare a report for the information of the coroner.
