The Dubbo Day Awards will be presented on Monday November 24 at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre's Macquarie Auditorium.
Previously known as the Dubbo City Community Service Awards, the Dubbo Day Awards are presented annually to mark the anniversary of Dubbo's gazettal as a village on November 23 1849.
Mayor of Dubbo, Councillor Mathew Dickerson said the Dubbo Day Awards recognised those who had contributed to the fabric of our society.
"Dubbo's greatest asset is undoubtedly its people - and the Dubbo Day Awards are a chance for us to acknowledge those community-minded people who consistently go above and beyond," Cr Dickerson said.
Up to 20 people will be presented with a Dubbo Day Award and one person will be awarded the Tony McGrane Public Service Award.
Last year, the Tony McGrane Public Service Award was presented to Lindy Blekemore, a Dubbo music teacher with more than 28 years' experience introducing local children to the joys of music and choral singing.
"Dubbo has some amazing people that really make this city a unique and wonderful place to live," Cr Dickerson said.
"If you know someone who fits this bill, I encourage you to nominate them for the Dubbo Day Awards."
Nominations will be received until 5pm, Wednesday, October 29 2014.
