One of the Fishies' favourite sons, the man known as 'Bobcat' will return to Dubbo on Sunday to team up with David Morrow and broadcast the match between CYMS and Parkes live on ABC Radio.
While he would no doubt enjoy seeing his brother, CYMS coach Tim Ryan, lift the silverware on Sunday afternoon, the former Bulldogs second-rower said he can't wait to return home but insists he'll be an impartial commentator.
"It's just part of it, you've got to say it how you see it but I guess this one will be a bit different," he said.
"The last few years I've been involved with it a bit and you've just got to get on with it but it's going to be a massive game, Parkes have come a long way in the last few weeks."
Ryan has carved out a successful media career since retiring from the game and said there was no chance he was going to turn down the opportunity to broadcast a match from his home town.
"I'm really looking forward to it, I've done a bit for the ABC over the last few years and the opportunity came up to do a Group 11 game so it's going to be unreal," he said.

"It's a bit different but I really enjoy the radio stuff, I do it on and off every few weeks and it's been really good.
"I know a lot of the radio stations do great stuff for country areas and it just worked out well this weekend I was available and we could go out. David Morrow will be there too so it's massive for the town."
Ryan is tipping another high-class contest with both sides possessing some of the region's best players and he was sure his brother would be enjoying the build up to a week where the Fishies have teams in all three grand finals.
"He loves it," he said of Tim and his coaching.
"He's got a good young squad and he's all about bringing the club together and he just loves that and being involved and having them all training together.
"I know he'll be focused this weekend and will want to get a job done, he'll be pretty keen.
"It's a repeat of last year and Parkes have come from fifth so they've done a fantastic job and I used to play with Dennis Moran a bit too and he's still killing it."
The 11-time Australian representative was back in Dubbo last month and was in attendance for the CYMS-Wellington game and he admitted he always keeps an eye on the Group 11 competition.
Dubbo has enjoyed a bumper year of rugby league with the Country-City match a huge success back in May and with ABC Radio now to showcase the game to larger audience, Ryan believes things will keep getting better for the game in this area.
"I think the next few years there will be an NRL game out there, obviously some plans would have been put on hold with Country-City here this year but I think there will be games in the future," he said, before praising Caltex Park.
"It's an amazing facility, the surface is equal to, if not better, than some NRL grounds and with places like Dubbo and Mudgee there's a lot of good grounds and I think clubs will have no hesitation in taking games out there."
